We are currently designing a data warehouse solution to support administrative analysis, data mining and reporting for a premier child placement agency in Colorado. The solution includes:
- Creation of a time-stamped replicated section of the OLTP database to a staging area
- Scheduled regular ETL processes to the warehouse
- Scheduled regular and subscription based reports from the warehouse
- Predictive reports based on analysis service
All solutions are based on Microsoft Technologies such as:
- SQL Server 2005
- Replication
- SSRS
- SSIS
- SQL Server Analysis Services
The highlights include no interruption of the current database service including no schema modifications, not even to enable delta data extraction.
This is an off-site development effort to be completed in our office on a series of Windows 2003 Server development servers.
